Mother Goddess

0 comentários
I'm with no inspiration lately. Maybe the daily stress, who klnows... then I just decided re-paint an old work.
The Mother Goddess, amalgamated and combined with various feminine figures from world cultures of both the past and present, is worshipped by modern Wicca and others (see Triple Goddess). The mother goddess is usually viewed as Mother Earth by these groups. More broadly, She is worshipped as Mother Nature, the Creatress of all life.

Wicca and some other types Neo-Pagans worship the Mother Goddess. Most commonly she is worshiped as a Triple Goddess; usually envisioned as the Maiden, Mother, and Crone archetypes. She is associated with the full moon and stars, as well as the Earth and sea.
[1]

Traditionally in Wicca, the Goddess is seen as the Triple Goddess, meaning that she is the maiden, the mother and the crone. (...) Some Wiccans, particularly in feminist traditions, have a monotheistic belief in the Goddess as One, excluding the God from their worship. [2]

Study, commissions, mourning...

These last times weren't that good for me. Unhappily my granny (mom's side) have passed away last month (8th april), then right after followed some family disputes (people trying to bite a heritage that doesn't exist!) resulting in a good amount of bills to pay. We had passed the hat for some bills (including hospital), and I'm doing some cheap commissions to cover some remaining household bills and veterinary expenses as I've posted in my deviantArt and FurAffinity journals (my pets got sick in the day after granny passed away and one of them died. Seems everything bad happens same time, but at least my other 3 dogs are getting better now).

Some people have helped me and my family after read my appeal and commissioned artworks. Others have sent some nice support messages and many others have spreaded my appeal. Maybe sounds too few for some of you, but it was too much for me in to many ways. The main one: how much "strange" people (unknown) helped me without even doesn't know me or my work before, while so many "friends" and "family" haven't moved a single finger to help or dial to ask if we (me and my family) were ok. Thank you so much to whom helped and really bothered to ask me what was happening. Thank you my friends that I didn't even know I had (and thank you the few ones that said was my friend and really were when I really needed).

Velvet the Kliithe (c) Kojanue.
Kli'ithe are, for the most part, predatory. The entire gender of the species is purely female. Each creature bears one, bone horn, two human-like arms with a large-spanning "fur" wings protruding from their wrists, meeting back at their bodies around the waist.

From head to hips, along with their groin is also humanoid, though oddly covered in fur, however their necks are elongated to help them snatch prey quicker, and to counter-balance their tail to an extent.

While unable to see, their sense of smell, touch, and hearing are hightened to pick up what they don't have, giving them a better lay of the land than one might assume. Each breath they take can easily identify what scents they smell, which object the scent belongs to, how big the object is, whether it is a living being or not, etc.

Their legs are formatted to that of a canine or feline's, each toe equipped with talons as welll as pads on the bottoms to keep traction on the ground. (...)

Carnaval spider

Brazilian carnaval time = nothing to do. Wholhe country is "partying" outside, there is only carnaval and samba at tv, radios, news sites... then I decided to do something useful to comemorate :P I'm not that good in watercolors, but I can give you some hints and tips from this recent (and past) experience:
  • paper must be more than 300g. Less than that thickness your paper will curl, more than that you won't see the drawing under the paper when clean up at lightbox;

  • do not draw straight in the watercolor paper: make a sketch in another paper and clean up in the watercolor paper, using the lightbox. Print on the paper won't work that good...

  • Soft brushes (poney fur, not mixed) is good for washing, but for strokes sintethic brushes are MUCH better (same for acrylics);

  • use a clean tissue to dry the paint, just put the tissue on top and press;

  • latex mask is a piece of sh*t, run away (I should have done that...);

I love watercolors, but I think digital suits better to me lol XD
--> Someone that REALLY know how to use watercolors (not me haha) --> Clap-San.

Oh carnaval! Eu gosto do - feriadão - carnaval, posso ficar organizando o que tiver pra organizar. [sarcasm mode on].

Free unrestricted (or almost) stocks :D

2 comentários
Stock images, brushes and textures are a great help when you have to add some special effects in your pictures, websites, logo, etc. The problem is, when the stock is perfect - and paid - with a very high price that doesn't make the stock worth to use. Or when the stock is "free", but you must follow some items from licensing as "no use outside my site" or "no cropping", go for it.
Some licensing are more flexible, even allowing commercial usage for free or with a cheap and worth price.

Those are my fave stocks, and - obvious - the ones I use :)
- Sirius-Sdz: no rules (except repost or sell the textures itself - but is nice say a thx, don't you think?);
- Hawksmont: brushes and textures stock, no rules (except repost or sell the textures itself);
- Wikimedia Commons: lot's of public domain resources there. Some non-public-domain images are free for comercial and non commercial usage, using Creative Commons or GNU-GPL licencing, then better double checking;

Those are some nice resources:
- Diane's Hanagumori brushes: free brushes, credits desired;
- Brusheezy: great brushes, patterns and textures, but licensing may vary accourding to author. You can also find my brushes there.
- Stock Unrestricted: big collection of stocks! their rules are not that bad: can be used for both, personal and commercial projects; the user are not required to obtain permission to using the stock off site or in DA prints; It cannot be redistributed as stock; the only requirements are that the stock provider be notified and credited or the Stock has a Creative Commons Attribution Licence.

Remember to check the licensing twice before use ANY stock, authors can change idea very fast.

Sabe quando você vê aquele pincel ou textura ótimops pra seu website, logo, imagem, etc., mas ele é pago ou tem restrições demais? bem, listei alguns que não são assim acima. Aproveite!
